What is Vollee's mobile access to Second Life world?
Vollee's service will enable mobile access to the full world of Second Life letting people explore, interact and communicate with other Residents on-line. The experience is uniquely enhanced for mobile, reformatting the 3D online world to map to the screen size and the keys on a handset.

How does it work?
The virtual world is adapted for mobile and streamed directly from Vollee's powerful servers to 3G enabled handsets, giving access to the vast and ever expanding world of Second Life.

What type of phone do I need to have?
Vollee service requires high speed connections, so you need to have a 3G enabled phone. We will be releasing supported phone list shortly.

How do I get access to Second Life world on my phone?
Simply pre-register by filling out the form on this site and when the service launches (starting this coming May) we will contact those with supported handsets so they can download the client to their mobile phone. The client is a small 100K client (any platform) and all the images and data will be streamed in real-time to your phone.

When is this going to be going live?
Starting in May of this year we will be rolling out (over several weeks) to all the people who have pre-registered and who have compatible phones.

Will this cost me anything?
Currently Vollee is offering mobile access to world of Second Life as an open beta free of charge. You do however have to have an adequate data plan with your mobile operator as you are streaming the equivalent data of Mobile TV that may cost you additional fees from your mobile carrier.

Do you have to open a new Second Life account?
No, Second Life Residents can simply log-in using their existing accounts and continue their avatar driven adventures and will not be required to open a new account for the mobile version. With a simple download to their 3G mobile handset, anyone can sign off on their PC and sign on using their mobile device. If you are not yet on Second Life we encourage you to sign up.

Will I only have access to other mobile phone users?
No, you will have access to everything you are normally accustomed to. You can chat with everyone  - whether they be on a PC or mobile device. The platform that the virtual world is being accessed through does not matter.
